Quotes Manager

Summary: Leads quotes department in formulating strategy to close deals with purchasing authorities at Electrical Wholesale project houses, and Electrical Contractor accounts. Accountable to the organization for Quotes team close ratios. Establishes best practices in process and procedures, for organizing and distributing Quotes Team work load. Weighs and understands best fit for awarding projects with distribution/contractor customer base. Reads, understands, and deciphers lighting specifications and fixture schedules to establish quotes documents for projects of all sizes. Drives prior submittal process and works with sales team to maximize successful substitutions on projects coming up for bid. Owns and constantly improves communication between all departments on project work.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Establishes and implements best practice processes and procedures for quotes department
  • Works with sales team to drive ERW products in jobs
  • Drives project work through Distribution/Contractor customer base
  • Reads and understands construction drawings
  • Reads and understands electrical drawings
  • Reads and understands Lighting Specifications and Fixture Schedules
  • Understands and capitalizes commission structures and overage policies for all manufacturers in order to maximize profits for ERW
  • Intimately understands ERW line card, and manufacturer quota expectations and distributes product accordingly
  • Knows and understands our Manufacturers and their processes/policies
  • Knows and understands ERW Lighting processes/policies
  • Team mentality. Works with Specification, Distribution, and Contractor sales team to find best fit for projects
  • Continually strives to improve ERW Lighting’s reputation and placement in our market

Supervisory Responsibilities: Quotations Team

Competencies: Read, write, and speak fluent English. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to follow directions.

Qualifications: 3 to 5 years Quoting experience with proven success story, required. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential duties listed above satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education: Bachelor’s Degree – requirement may be waived for work history experience.

Job Knowledge: Competent in required job skills and knowledge; exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills; keeps abreast of current developments; requires minimal supervision; displays understanding of how job relates to others; uses resources effectively.

Reasoning Ability: Must be able to make sense of standard, industry specific terminology, read and understand communications from vendors, manufacturers, and customers.

Computer Skills: Core basics for PC’s, Office Suite, Outlook, and Oasis, aptitude for additional software programs.

Physical Demands: Sit for up to 2 hours continuously, lift up to 50 lbs., look at computer screen for up to 2 hours continuously.

Work Environment: The work environment at ERW Lighting & Controls is fast­ paced and demanding. Employees are expected to treat all co-workers with respect and courtesy at all times. All employees are responsible for maintaining a clean and presentable work space, and adhering to company dress code. All employees are expected to be on time for their shift.

Administrative Assistant

Department: Administration

Supervisor: TBD

Summary: Provides assistance in all administrative duties. Primary person responsible for answering phones, posting invoicing, managing samples and literature, and managing company calendar.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Utilize individual and team-based problem solving
• Answer phones and direct callers to appropriate team member
• Manage company calendar, ensure that factory visits are posted as scheduled and not over-booked
• Post invoices
• Enter samples into inventory, check samples in and out for sales team
• Order literature as necessary, maintain and organize literature storage
• Sign for deliveries and distribute to appropriate individuals
• Keep filing up-to-date and maintain a tidy work environment
• Sort and distribute daily mail
• Order office supplies
• Other duties as required
